Introducing DeLegance the Noted Poet

Brief Biographical Sketch

Dwayne was born, raised, and educated in Oakland California, after graduating from Oakland Technical High School in 2000. Dwayne attended Xavier University of Louisiana where he received a bachelor’s degree in psychology May of 2005. In college Dwayne served on various different youth outreach committees, and actively participated in performance arts. In 2005 Dwayne moved back home to Oakland California where he began teaching physical education. In the summer of 2006 Dwayne developed his alter ego DeLegance the Noted Poet: whose purpose is to promote leadership, mentorship, and scholarship within his community. DeLegance has spoken at numerous events, recently serving as the associate producer of “Suicide Boyz” a 15 minute film which premiered at the Hollywood Black Film Festival (2008). Dwayne is currently working on his masters of business administration degree at the University of Phoenix, a novel: “Chronicles of a Corporate Thug” and a poetry compilation Abstract Word Art http://www.webook.com/project/Abstract-Word-Art.  Delegance lives by the motto “If I can dream it then I can accomplish it”. In the winter of 2007 Dwayne decided to live his dream and take DeLegance poetry to higher heights.
